We stopped about 1/2 way there for lunch in the stunning tiny hill top village of Minerve, population 122. (That doesn't count tourists).
Joni has wanted to visit this village for the past eight years and we've always found a reason to not stop, so finally she got her wish. As one of the guide books said, the view from the village parking lot, is worth a detour alone...
Our restaurant was outstanding, our best meal in France so far, but that's not surprising since it's rated in the Michelin guide.
After lunch we drove another 300 km, not arriving at Le Mas Perreal until 7 PM. We were warmly greeted by our hosts Kevin, who grew up in Connecticut, and his wife, Elisabeth, who is from Paris.
I took a quick dip in the pool since the temperature today was in the high 90's and then we were off to dinner in nearby Roussillon, where we had another wonderful meal which included foie gras.
It was a long day, and we're both exhausted but very happy to be "en Provence."
And oh yes, Joni is much better after her fall the other night. She's able to drink from a full bottle of rose with her right hand!

We thought of you guys as we made a stop in the small village where they will be starting next years tour and they had a digital countdown sign!
ReplyDeleteSo when in France, Joni has more than one glass. Living the vacation life!
